It was mentioned on the local TV news yesterday that Toolstation has been bought by Travis Perkins.

Thats the end of another competitive, well run company then ! :furious3:

That's wrong I'm afraid, the Kingfisher group owns B&Q & Screwfix. Whereas the Travis Perkins group owns Wickes, City Plumbing, etc.

The only thing I dislike about Tool Station is that I have to wait for delivery and I'm at the mercy of a courier whereas with Screw Fix I can order online and collect it 10 minutes later.

dont know what to say Bert,unless they looked into buying them a year ago and my man in TP has his wires crossed will ask him tomorrow but he is the area manager so you would think he would know

Travis Perkins purchased 30% of Toolstation back in 2008.

Within the last week the remaining 70% has been sold by Mr Goddard-Watts and his family trust (former owner of Screwfix) for £24 million.

Since Travis Perkins purchased the original 30%, the size of the company has grown from only 12 outlets to 103 today. So maybe this is good news for some of you guys, you might be getting a local Toolstation soon.

TP is a massive company, they own a load of tings. The guy who started screwfix and then toolstation seems to know what hes doing.

I've been waiting 3 days for a delivery from them as the courier says he couldn't find my house, which is a joke as it's one of the most well known streets in the area. If I'm forced to order online, Screw fix for me every time as I can go and collect it.

tp .wickes, city plumbing ,keyline toolstation pts all the same group gasman nothing to do with kingfisher group worked there about 8 yrs ago had a staff card for all of them except ones recently bought
