It was mentioned on the local TV news yesterday that Toolstation has been bought by Travis Perkins.

Thats the end of another competitive, well run company then ! :furious3:
 
Me too! Right next door to each other.

....and me, in Tunbridge Wells. Then on the same road I have 4 plumbing merchants, and three electrical merchants. All within the area of of a few football pitches. Its brilliant. Really spoilt. Then two mins down the road is a B&Q for when they're all shut as it's half 8 on a Saturday....
 
I wish I had a really local Toolstation & Screwfix, I have a solid 40min drive each way to mine only to be told by the counter rat the item isn't in stock even though I'd reserved online.

I've been at the mercy of delivery firms the last few day, at Christmas I think they have acency drivers who don't know the route and keep you a slave to your doorbell for 3 days like I was recently.

Never again will I order anything important around Christmas and new year.
