Vaillant 630 System Boiler, Ariston cylinder and Vaillant 470f Controller Issues :(

Hi,

A few months ago I had a new central heating system put in. I purchased the following:

- Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 630 System Boiler
- Ariston cylinder
- Honeywell ST9400C
- Vaillant 470f Wireless Weather Compensator Controller

I already had builders doing other work in my house and they fitted this system for me. Since then I have had lots of issues, they have come back and seem to have fixed most of them apart from one and now they won't even return my calls.

The issue is I only get hot water when the heating is on. The last time I spoke to my builders they said there is nothing wrong with the installation or wiring. I spoke to Vaillant for advice but they were very unhelpful. I called a local plumber/heating specialist who took one look at my system and said he doesn't know anything about wireless controllers and then left.

I don't know anything about these systems, or how they work or how they are meant to work. I have been told by a friend that the components I bought won't work together. I am not sure if this is true or if they haven't been installed correctly.

If anyone knows anything about these components I would be grateful for any advice you may have.

Sounds to me that it has not been wired correctly.

i concur the concur, never use a builder for plumbing either, get in a good plumber and send the builder a bill once its rectified

They will work together and obviously haven't been installed correctly.

Bet the system configuration/installer start up on the 470f hasn't been completed properly, there are alot of settings to get through for that system. Out of interest what is the heat curve set at?

Why are using the honeywell controller with the 470f?

The 470f is all you need...

Thanks everyone for your replies. You have confirmed my hunch that it wasn't wired correctly.

After I posted on this forum I disconnected the wireless module inside the boiler and configured the Honeywell timer. It seems to be working for now but without a thermostat and without a controller upstairs (the boiler is in my basement).

I was confused why there was two as well. I didn't realised I had the Honeywell unit until it appeared on the wall. The shop I bought it from included it in the order because apparently I needed it. The plumber the builder used said I needed it as well. They had set both the hot water and central heating to always on (until I changed it yesterday).

So it sounds like I need to find an expert to come and fix it all for me. Wish me luck!

The vaillant weather compensation 470/470f is a great bit of kit. When installed and programmed correctly it works really well and customers tend to love it...

Sounds like whoever installed it doesn't understand it and wired it up incorrectly with the wrong kit.

Ok.. I have been chatting to a few people about this and it seems like I might need the Vaillant VR65 (I am not able to post a URL to the product).

Does this make sense to anyone? I prefer not to spend more money if it is not going to work!
