Hi fellas haven't posted in a while but after a bit of advice on this one.

Heating working fine but hot water shooting straight up to temperature and cutting out, hot water pipe from boiler getting scalding hot, all symptons of a blocked plate heat ex. changed DHW heat ex but still the same, swapped heating and hot water dry pocket NTC's over but still shoots right up to temperature as if theirs restriction somewhere.

No kettling noise on the boiler... anyone came across this before? any common faults relating to this?

cheers cj

First thought ............ what's the hot water flow rate? Maybe there's a filter blocked on the inlet somewhere as you've said?

flow rate is brilliant, i even screwed actuator head off and depressed the spindle manually into HW postion, still no different...only thing i can think is there is a blockage maybe somwhere where the heating pipes split to plate..but how common is this?

bit of a head scratcher.

Just to update, problem solved.

Removed main heatexchanger , filled with boiling water and some fernox ds3 give it a good descale reassembled and working like a dream :)
strange how it was cutting off on heating aswell, bit of a red herring!!
cool return water must have been enough to stop temp belting to max.

Untreated system in a hard water area not a good combination!
