UK Viessman Vitodens 100-W weather compensation

Good evening,

I have a Vitodens 100-W (Type B1HC, B1KC) boiler and I'm considering adding a weather compensation control.

I'd appreciate any insights on the pros & cons.

We spend around £1,200 a year on gas, Viessmann reckons you can save up to 15%, is this achievable?

Regards

I would say you’ve got a good chance as it’s ufh possible upgrade the rads to match the design spec of the ufh ? Then remove the mixers and run on wc

Around 10-15% I would say but modify your program to stay on between your times and alter the curve instead of the room stat

Hi,
Had a new Viessmann 050 25kw combi boiler with WC fitted June 23, it replaced a 30 yr old boiler and water tank system. Just wanted to say that the weather comp seems to work really well, and it halved my heating bill from the old system, I know its not a good comparison because old system was really inefficient, and we have it on all day as WC should be used in this way. Overnight heating is off and the setpoint on the room stat/controller is set to 17 deg, as if it gets too cold, it would take a while for it to reheat the rooms, its not a problem as it very rarely goes below that anyway. The boiler is set at 20 deg, and modulates at 10% when it does kick in, and it keeps the rooms at approx that temperature, and its really comfortable.
