Done a landlords cert yesterday and telegan readings went mad over 300 ppm and climbing

Checked the usual stuff flues fine not corroded heatex is clear burners not damaged
pressures where all fine gas rate was bang on

So why dodgy telegan readings ?

vokeras answer was ehhhhh did u check the burner for cracks!!

stick the analyser in the air hole to see if the flue is cross contaminating exhaust gases

also test with case off and case on

just a start to rule things out

ambrosia I always check the air intake on vokeras and this ones fine case on off makes no diffrence

have you tested the telegan on a boiler you know just to check its not a fault? could be a filter like in the kanes

Vokera have the worst tech help line, calling it a 'help line' is scottish sarcasm

okay so youve ruled out the flue and the flue seals, have you gas rated it, if the flue is okay is it getting correct gas, also hows the fan speed, is there any obstructions beween fan burner and start of flue

my bet is its going to turn out to be the gas valve or signal from pcb to gas valve

if its the compact 24 and not compact 24se then were not talking about a new boiler, could be an excuse to get a new boiler it is afterall a volkera (i'm only half joking i hate those boilers, i wont waste money fixing them, an old volkera is far better in the skip than wasting money on endless parts)

Not checked the fan speed yet the gas rate was bang on.

Think it could be the fan ?

Had slow fans on these give high readings.
Doddle to completely strip out.
Brush down fan & bit of bearing lube in motor. Clean hex/burner while at it.
Check flue in full.
If still high probably the fan.

Took the burner out again today hoovered it all out managed to get an acceptable reading whilst on the phone to vokera "technical" so all good
