Hello to all what is the best way to revise for the water regs exam I know its open book muiltable choice but have any of you guys know the best way to revise for it thanks

I was going to say cat 5 and would you use double check valves
Double checks only good up to cat 3 (single up to 2) even something called an RPZ valve (mechanical back flow protection device) is only good up to 4.
The truth is there is no mechanical device that can protect against back flow from such a high risk, only an air gap can do that cos there is nothing to go wrong !

Which begs the question on a kitchen sink with mains drinking water on one side & hot water (vented or un-vented on the other) how can these be install legally so that they comply ???

To be fully compliant you need to plumb via a break tank for both hot and cold but on a domestic kitchen sink you can now fit one using DC valves as long as the pull out spray is equipped with a trigger mechanism that shuts off when releases.

A few manufactures are now also supplying kitchen sink mixers with a fixed length flexi hose that clips in to a curved section. I've fitted a couple and they are nice.

Mike, I would be very interested in any details you may have on the above, especially the combination of DC & trigger, is this still OK if hose can be left in the sink?
Thanks Chris
