Then don't let your mum have a bath again !!!!What if it's pood in ?
On the hot and cold pipes under the bathCategory 3 because it is water that has entered the bath & a double check valve will provide adequate protection because there is no air gap (tap outlets could be submerged) but where should the protection be installed ?
Spot on, now how about the other one, the kitchen mixer tap with the spray hose that can reach the bowl ?On the hot and cold pipes under the bath
would it be the same cat 3 with a double check valveSpot on, now how about the other one, the kitchen mixer tap with the spray hose that can reach the bowl ?
No, No, whats the fluid cat of the water once in the sink ? & then what protection measures could we put in place (cos we not got the AUK 3 tap gap) ?would it be the same cat 3 with a double check valve

so what is??DCV isn't sufficient for cat. 5.
Double checks only good up to cat 3 (single up to 2) even something called an RPZ valve (mechanical back flow protection device) is only good up to 4.I was going to say cat 5 and would you use double check valves
Mike, I would be very interested in any details you may have on the above, especially the combination of DC & trigger, is this still OK if hose can be left in the sink?To be fully compliant you need to plumb via a break tank for both hot and cold but on a domestic kitchen sink you can now fit one using DC valves as long as the pull out spray is equipped with a trigger mechanism that shuts off when releases.
A few manufactures are now also supplying kitchen sink mixers with a fixed length flexi hose that clips in to a curved section. I've fitted a couple and they are nice.
We recommend City Plumbing Supplies, BES, and Plumbing Superstore for all plumbing supplies.
