Tree surgeons (real ones) have to go through college and a lot of training too you know, they don't just get handed a chainsaw and told to do their best.

we did in the scouts aged 14!.
axes, chainsaws, bush saws..cutting down 30'' trees down in a forest to prepare new camp grounds. this included climbing and de-limbing them.
we were called the vermin and bush control team, the pump action shotguns air rifles and cross bows were another thing. however, by the age of 16 we were proficient 'lumberjacks' clearing an acre or two of woodland and creating enough firewood for the next year or so. been doing it ever since but no college. thats why we were called MEN by 16, it put hairs on your balls lol. no nambypamby risk assesment paper shufflers either. OOOHARRRRRR!!

Mark,
we will start again , forget my post 21
In your post 20, are you referring to my post 19 or my original post 1.

I've now had 12 Stella and half a bottle of red wine. Whatever the discrepancy lets forget it and be friends lol

I can once remember watching a "tree surgeon" ( in brackets because I think he was just an idiot with a chainsaw) who was cutting the branch he was standing on but he was cutting next to the trunk so he was going to fall, I was 13 and didn't want to see someone die so closed my eyes and walked away my grandad was shouting at the bloke and his mate but they couldn't hear. Apparently when the branch started to drop he dropped the chainsaw and grabbed the tree but I never saw that.

Redo his earnings and take I to account the time he needed to spend dumping your stuff, (don't think you have) like plumbers customers don't see the hidden side, bottom line is a qualified experienced person who can do something better than me gets paid what they want or I get someone else, I've never really had an issue paying anyone what they want, because I charge what I want, either me or my customer can get someone else cheaper, then pay me even more to fix it haha

£25 is dirt cheap. Climber gets £18/h saws are expensive insurance very expensive 1 knot a geko rope is £180! Chains are £20 small bar is £40 fuel. PPE....... Boots (blue ridge £180) It's cold hard. Dangerous work. Much rather be in a boiker than in a tree.
