Anyone any advice for a double trap blockage from the 1930s? cant even get a snake through ,tried everything and now can only think of taking out the wc which has unfortunatly been stuck in the stack with putty and I'd rather not?

Is it a blockage or has the venturi seal broken?, if the venturi has broken this would look like a blockage, because a syphonic pan relies on sub atmospheric pressure between the two traps to help flush away the contents of the pan

A putty pan joint can be unpicked with a hacksaw blade once a start has been made in the joint, with a small bladed screwdriver

seems a lot of plumbers think syphonic wc is a musical instrument

Reminds me of the time that a plumber I knew bought a new toilet unblocking kit. It was like a plunger that discharged a high pressure air jet.
So, he turns up at the posh house and gingerley puts his new kit in the pan and releases a high pressure jet of air that clears the pan. Pleased with himself he shows the customer the flusing toilet and gives him a large bill. On the way out after getting in his van he glances up to the posh house to see turds, bog roll etc all over the roof that had been blown up the vent pipe. He just drove away .
How we laughed.

If it is the pan thats blocked I start with generous scoop of an expensive biological specialist enzyme powder (also called bio washing up powder) then add a kettle full of near boiling water which when added to the water already in the pan makes it warm enough for the powder to work its magic and breakdown the blockage. Away for a snooze then get the roddin kit out. The only time it didnt work was when Action man was in the u bend in his scuba gear, he needed a tetnus shot when i got him out but other than that he was fine. :D
