Believe it or not they have mounted it up in a rather high pitched loft so they didn't need flue extensions. No way am i risking taking it down the ladder or resting it on the jig.....
They put the boiler up there when they had a new roof put on, you'd have to cut a bigger loft hatch to get the boiler out or a new one in!!
i can just imagine people driving past with a boiler just mounted up in the middle of no where.
they weren't even in today, they can wait till monday to get any hot water now.
Had to take a prv out a Greenstar 24i System earlier, same as the combi, but a metal plate instead of the phex, the diverter valve blocked off and then the other cold inlet hot outlet plugged off. Because there was no cold feed pipe, it made it much easier to get the prv out. Was still a pain in the backside though. The installer had put the return almost resting against the prv.
Feck replacing it. Cut it and cap off. Remove return valve, fit a 3/4 iron tee. Thread prv in branch and. 3/4 stud in bottom. Put outlet back on stud and connect return at its Lower position. Connect prv to ex pipe. Bye!
In and out in 30 mins. Looks like it should be in a plant room but loads less stress than messing on in cupboard under boiler!
