we are always being asked what tools do i need,so decided to remove all the pipe,rubbish etc out of my toolbox before going back in to work tomorrow this is just a basic day to day kit needed for a plumber/gas engineer thats without sds drills,bat drivers and all the other stuff we use,its a expensive profession tools (WinCE).jpg

well if its a corner basin i use the fixing kits it comes with. highly unlikely that a HA tenent is going to recieve a corner basin what next they will be asking for bidets and a soft close toilet seat! lol my tool bag at the mo is centred on my main job, i subbie to FHM who are the contractors for Plymouth Community Homes, all 25000 council houses in Plymouth are under going 5 year + upgrade, new kitchens bathrooms and 5000 of these homes are getting new heating packs. Its the same sinks day in day out. so unless its a private paying customer, then its gonna be bolts and nuts to hold the sink back to the wall!

It pays well and has some job security.

indeed i hate buying cheapo tools had too many fail on me, tht said Todays Tools sold in branches of City Plumbing, are far better than the rothy ones i had which are now somewhere on the industrial estate where i threw them in a fit of rage!

citys 4trade stuff aint too bad got the basin spanner from there and its pretty good.

I have one toolbox for general plumbing tools, and one just for oil boilers. There are duplicates of a few tools such as screwdrivers in each for convenience. I have a number of tote boxes for other gear - an oil one with oil filters, filter bowls, nozzle box, spare oil lines, parts, vinyl gloves, fire cement, glass rope and adhesive etc etc in it, a plumbing one for other plumbing tools, blowtorch etc, and another one for joinery, drills, plugs, tools etc. I have a third tote box which contains component boxes for solder fittings, compression fittings, push fits, washer kit boxes etc, and more tote boxes for other stuff - waste pipe fittings and traps, wc fittings and spares etc etc. For example if I have a WC job I just grab the WC tote box and the plumbing tote box and normal toolbox but leave the others.

My one are gone rusty , stillsons are on the way to !
Most of the houses in London don't have steal pipes !!!
When I work for the cancel , every job I used them and stillsons and my recip saw to cat it all out as the moment you touch it it creates a gas leak some where dawn the line !

i have big stillies but no footprints, i did have a decent pair of grips that were like a cross between footies and stillies but some weee rat bag stole them

one thing i dont have though is an olive remover, i just use a junior
