Hi all, I have just fitted a honeywell 10 port wiring centre and wired up the y plan system as per honeywell diagram. Heating works fine, Problem is the hot water seems to be permanently live/on.

I have the programmer set to OFF position yet still the hot water and cylinder stat are live. Only way to turn hot water off is turn cylinder stat down.

Ive vey tried swapping the programmer as thought it may be faulty but it is no different.

Ive been trying to see my error but have had a bit of a blank.

Any help much appreciated..
Thanks.

Sounds like you've got something wrong :) With programmer 'off' on heating and hot water the only 'live' you potentially have is from the 'hot water off' connection on the programmer or a permanent live if you have one? ... I've known of appliance issue give you the same symptoms but that's not for this form alas :)

ave you tried turning down the room thermostat. And checked you have white wire heating on and grey wire hot water off to the programme.. Just reminder if I'm not correct.. Heating select on from programmer and "switch"live from cylinder stat. And grey wire is selected to heating off...
May the 4th be with you..!

If it's the Honeywell wiring centre rather than the junction box make sure you have cut the links as per the instructions on the lid. failing that check your wiring again, it's easy to get wires crossed.

im with Mike on this. Happened to me once when I wired my first wiring centre from Honeywell, forgot to cut one link, all sorted after.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. No it's not a wiring centre it's just a junction box. Also I've checked everything twice now and I've wired it in as per the diagram on the programmer instructions (Drayton lps programmer) and still hot water is live for some reason.

I'm suspecting it's something to do with wiring in the frost stat as it shares terminals with the heating in the junction box.

does anybody know where the frost stat should be wired in correctly in the junction box?

Thanks.

Frost stat wired between L and heating on wire on the three port (white).

Frost stat depends on what central heating boiler you have. Most common is between Live and boiler switch live/pump live, bi-passing the programmer and control stats.

This is the 'Normally Open' switch on the frost stat yeh?
