Its probably obvious but can't figure this out.

Old open vented central heating system, potterton suprima boiler packed in. Replaced with a glowworm flexicom.

New 3 way valve fitted, new pump fitted, new room stat fitted new tank stat fitted. Programmer had been replaced 18months ago so not changed.

All new components tested and work fine.

Problems

pump running continuous

intermittent boiler firing when no call

100% certain this is a wiring issue have looked at the connection block and all looks in place ( out of order though) apart from one yellow wire that has 36v on it constant which is linked 8 - 5 see pic

Also looked at the wiring on the programmer and there are 2 red and 2 yellow wires that are not connected?? any ideas

Was the original pump wired direct to the suprima for pump overun - where's it wired to now ?
Looks like an EP backplate - is the switch on the back of the programmer set to fully pumped ?

It is an EP backplate. A great idea at the time but a pita when it comes to upgrading.
You have mixed the wiring up a bit somewhere. Not easy to offer any advice other than to get a multimeter and trace the wires.
