When the condense blocks it gets very noisy. You can take the little inspection cover off at the sump and check. If it hasn't been serviced that will may well be blocked up a bit too.
 
So after servicing the boiler yesterday and leaving it in good order, I get a text today saying same thing has happened. Shoot over there as only round the corner and wanted to make sure it wasn't my work that caused the fault.. I investigate the condense run and find that the builders have connected the run with a flexi hose underneath the cabinets and run it back up to a inch and half tee.. tut tut. Got me another job out of it though to rerun the condense :) sweet - cut the existing pipe and run it into a bucket for temp repair!
