I have a insurance job to try and rescue a poorly installed quad shower the customer wants to save the tiling if possible and has a few spare so fingers crossed it may work , the loss adjuster allowed em £1500 that will just about cover materials. Kop

Doctors blimey they aren't coming back to work are they Shaun can't have them getting a chill . 🤣🤣

:D there only allowing me sat and Sundays to do the work so maybe :D

Just had three days converting gravity hot to unvented in a bungalow, plus re routing all pipes in roof space ready for a loft conversion next year.
Had to move feed and expansion for heating and get it all up and running today. Left at 8.00 tonight.
50 minutes later, text message, water bubbling up through kitchen floor.
The only section of hot pipe in the concrete floor runs from under the bath and across kitchen floor to sink, and it's gone pop.

Only thing I could do tonight was turn off hot water.

But now have to fit in pulling up a real wooden floor and digging out concrete to fix the leak.

Not like I'm busy or anything. Ffs.

Its always a risk converting to pressurised Simon I hope you covered yourself before hand mate ? Can you reroute rather than dig up and look for leaks ?? Chances are it may find the next weakness point and leak there ?? Feel for you mate. Regards kop

All explained to customer beforehand, plus covered in estimate.

No chance to reroute, unfortunately, but had the plinth off under sink unit and it looks like a previous repair was done and I reckon it's the repair that's failed 🤞🤞

Converting a bathroom to have a walk in shower stripped out and starting the rebuild, got the Flova smartbox fitted and piped a bit tricky in a metal stud wall pipes passing through the metal uprights but have sleeved them all . Kop

You are brave taking them pipes across like that. One day someone will go straight through them putting a grab rail up or something and wished they'd never started 😂 Know it can't be helped sometimes.

That gonna be a wallboard job kop? Then at least you don’t have to try and make good that awful metal stud wall - just go over the gaps 🙂.
Have you used flova before, any good?
Not on this one mate going to be tiled all quality stuff on this Flova shower and fixtures and fitting in bronze, 1700 x 800 slab tray that's gonna hurt 😂 10 mm frosted glass panel should look good . 👍

On with this at the minute, they’ve lived there 55 years and never touched the bathroom. Awkward room for a layout, so done some shifting about.
