How should condensate drain connection be made at top of downpipe?

[ASIDE: I did wonder if this was the best forum for this but figured as it was a boiler related issue that the gas engineers would be dealing with it as a matter of course. If I'm wrong can someone let me know and I'll shift it to a better place.] I have a condensing boiler installation...

Boiler condensate pipe fitted behind plasterboard

Hi everyone I hope you can help. We were getting some work done and our builder attached the boiler condensate pipe to the sink waste pipe. This was all then covered with dot and dab. Shown in the picture, red arrow. So the only thing visible now is a round pipe from the wall. We are yet to fit...

    22mm Condensate Pipe Elbows Failing

Our boiler is in the loft and I encountered a leak in a roof above our side extension store room which has transpired to be from the boiler condensate pipe. It was cracked at an elbow so the plumber we use has replaced this and hopefully all will be well with that joint. This later prompted me...

Boiler condensate pipe leaking at joint

Hello I have a condensate pipe that appears to be leaking at the joint. How do I fix the leak? Would something like plumbers putty around the joint work or does it need to be some other compound? Can I simply pull the pipe and joint out and then put the compound round it Thanks

    Condensate Pipe installation

Engineer has installed several boilers for me. All the condensate pipes have been connected externally into soil stack or rain water downpipe. In each case he just drilled a hole in the pipe, and stuck the condensate in the side, smeared glue everywhere. No boss, or branch. Is this allowed, is...

Condensate external or drill through from garage

I'm on a new build the boiler is in the garage. I have the option of drilling straight out with the condensate in to the stack. Or drilling through from the garage to the house to tee in to the kitchen sink waste. So it's either coring out and coming out with that black dot is.

    Condensate Neutralising

Hi all, new to the forum. Ive come across a commercial plant room with around 500KW of boilers where the condensate terminates outside about 4 inches under the ground directly next to the wall of the building...... no drain, no soak away, no neutraliser. My understanding is the acidic content...

Hi. Was looking for a house on sale the other day and just wanted something confirmed to me... Was there ever a time when a condensing boiler could have been legally fitted, and in accordance with MIs, with a 22mm overflow used as an external condensate pipe... and with that condensate pipe...

Boiler condensate into dedicated stand pipe - is it safe?

I have read a few posts on here discussing sharing a washing machine stand pipe for the boiler condensate pipe and the risks of washing machine waste water backing up into the boiler etc., but I recently seen something that I can't find any discussion on so thought to start one. It was a combi...

    Too much condensate flowing?

I have noticed recently that when I switch on the boiler to heat hot water, the amount of condensate flowing is much more noticeable than usual, in fact, noticeable by the noise of the water running. Usually, you barely hear the condensate flowing. On the other hand, when the Central Heating is...

    Recurrent e133 (not condensate related)

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but my family and I are starting to crack. I'll start at the beginning, and maybe someone will see something that makes sense to them. We live in a council property, and a couple of years ago our boiler (a Promax 28 Combi) started flashing us the...

    External condensate pipework.

I can’t find anything in black and white for this. I usually go through the wall in 40mm waste and don’t insulate. Does 40mm now need to be insulated as well as 30mm?

Central heating pressure is discharging through condensate trap.

Hi everyone, my sister's 5 year old Worcester Greenstar CDi Classic boiler is losing pressure rapidly[down from 1.5bar to zero overnight].
