Rerouting of condensate pipe from condensing combi boiler - any advice please

Hi Guys - a couple of years ago we had a new condensing combi boiler installed in our 1970s house, which originally would have had warm air heating, to replace an old free standing gas boiler. The combi is fitted in what was the cupboard for the warm air heating unit in the hallway and is...

Grandee condensate unit has a small hole

Hi all I've a Grandee 23/28 boiler and found a very small hole at the bottom of the condensate unit, thus you can see steam leaking out of the unit. The leak has dripped onto the control unit, but somehow that seems ok! Anyhow, I see that i have 2 options. 1 - Replace the condensate unit 2 -...

    Dodgy condensate pipe?

My neighbour had his boiler re-sited upstairs in 2012. The condensate pipe comes out of the wall, bends directly down vertically and ends about an inch above the lean-to over his drive - our drive is adjacent to his drive. The condensate then rolls about 10ft down the lean-to and into a gutter...

7 pipes to a worcester combination boiler? Not including the condensate pipe

Worcester boiler seems to have an extra cold feed from the boiler to the bathroom? If this is the case... why? The problem is that the hot water feed is fine. I.e. the hot water is red hot which is what I want.. As soon as the cold tap is put on though the hot reduces in temperature...

    biasi 30c condensate trap

The engineer came to check an error 01, which could have been the flame detector or condensate the latter was clear of any obstruction. He went to take off the trap and stripped it. I saw him put the plastic ball in the bottom cage of the trap. When he installed it again we could smell burnt...

    Condensate into downpipe

I read on here some time ago that the condensate drain is not supposed to be plumbed into the downpipe from house guttering. But looking around where I live, it is easy to see where old boilers have been replaced by condensing ones because they all have white plastic pipes connecting into their...

    Condensate Down a Rainwater Downpipe?

My mate is looking at having a new combi boiler installed (the old one is not a condensing boiler) and one of the installation quotes says that the condensate will be taken from the room to the outside and connected into the existing roof rainwater giuttering downpipe (which is actually the...

Condensate pipework on Potterton Promax SL 24

Had boiler installed last year and had problem with frozen pipe. I have been advised to move it to avoid this problem. If the pipe is ran straight down the wall under the boiler and a hole drilled above the skirting board to go outside to a drain that is for the upstairs bathroom will this be...

    Condensate drain.

Condensate drains should have a continuous fall long the entire run, which we know, so why am I seeing some installations where the 3/4" pipe exits the wall level? Of course it won't back up, as it falls after the exit, but that's not falling along the entire run is it.

What does built in condensate pump for new back boilers mean

What does a Built-in condensate pump for versatile drain options - up to 10m from boiler - which is descibed for a new baxi back boiler - mean? Does it mean that a pipe has to cross a floor from the chimney (where the back boiler would be placed) to go through an outside wall; I am not, as you...

I have a Vaillant Ecotec 415 Plus system boiler installed a few years ago. Originally it was an open vented system, but I have recently done a renovation and made the central heating a sealed pressurised system with an external expansion vessel replacing the expansion tank. Ever since the...

Hi folks, I'd appreciate a bit of help if possible. My boiler has suddenly started loosing pressure. I now need to pressurise the system twice a day. At first I thought it was a leek but after a thorough investigation I was unable to find one. I then placed a plastic cup under the condensate...
