Hello
In a large house with 7 showers and 3 kitchen sinks I think we need two secondary circuits for hot water, with the two 15mm returns connected back to a single re-circulating pump - probably one of the Grundfos Comfort pumps.
How can I:
1. Switch off each return circuit separately when...
Hi all. I'm mid way through updating a 20 year old heating system replacing rads and pipes from micro ore to plastic. Large house so set up two 22mm arterial branches feeding upstairs and downstairs circuit.
The idea is to connect both 22mm circuits via a 3 way moterisied valve and operate...
Hi all,
Sorry if this is boring everyone. I spoke a while back about a stock control solution I was designing for our plumbing business which should help keep track of stock levels etc as our business grows further. I am going to be aiming it at small businesses like mine which hold stock in...
Hi everyone,
I recently had a new combi boiler put in, it's a baxi duotec. I didn't realise, but the thermostat is a mechanical one and it ticks constantly. I want to replace it with a digital one. It's wifi. How costly and easy would changing it be?
Thanks,
Herb
Hi Everyone,
Apologies in advance for such a general question. I've looked high and low for some info and can't find it.
I just moved into a new home and the boiler control is:

I'm completely stumped as to how it works :( Does anyone recognise the make, or know of anything...
I fitted a gas fire 3 months ago , run the flue to outside , I got a call from building control that the cast rain water pipe is too close too my flue , I went back to investigate , to find this
If you have a boiler moved, or a new boiler fitted on a new location, do building control need to be notified?
If so, whose responsibility is it to notify the relevant parties? I read somewhere that of a Gas Safe registered engineer fits it, they can sign off their own work?
I'm not well up on Flowmaster unvented cylinders, but I have one that's dripping fast. A couple of months ago it was dripping occasionally, apparently only when it was being heated but I'm now sure this was really the case. At that time I assumed the T+P, as the expansion was well below pressure...
I am fitting a secondary circulator and looking for the best way to control it with a single channel. Programmer and pipe stat/s. I am aware of the grundfoss comfort but it's pretty big money. How have you guys set them up in the past? Dont want to time it alone but not sure how best to set up...
Water softeners - what fun:tounge_smile:. Talk about smoke and mirrors ...
The question - does anyone know how to reset the 'History' section on the Logix controller?
I've downloaded the manual - the only reset is a total reset. The problem I've got is that I'm only getting 900 litres of soft...
Hi
Hope someone can help me out.
My Central heating has not been working for a while.
I narrowed it down to the 3 port valve. Its a Sunvic 3 Port Valve.
It look fairly old, and I thought it was broken.
I took it off the top of the valve and turned the heating and hot water on and...
Hi Guys, I'm looking to install a control valve on my solid fuel heating at the cyl. I want to redirect the heating when the Cyl reaches 65 degrees to the Radiators. I'm wondering which is best to use a Motorized valve or a Guardian smartzone Valve. What's the best brand of MV to use as I don't...
Folks,
This is primarily aimed at people running plumbing companies with more than one van as stock control is a very easy job to do when you've got one van and you're in it every day. As soon as you have 2 vans and a staff member is running around in the other one you lose visibility and the...
hi we have just fitted a pressure reduction valve to reduce cold mains pressure going into a temperature control valve ( this is in children's nursery to ensure hot water wont burn kids hands) the hot water is from a vented tank, now can the cold water push the hot water back up to the...
I think the control stat on my boiler (Grant Multipass, Oil, Vented Indirect system) might be faulty.
If I set the dial of the control stat to 65C, the temperature at which it clicks off is about 70C and the temperature it clicks on is about 56C.
If I set the dial to 75C, it tends to click...
I have e residential water pumb with a press control on it. After it I placed a pressure reducing valve. The dimensions of the fittings of the press control and the pipes is 3/4 in. The pressuee reducing valve is 1/2in . Do you see a problem with that? I mean will the pump be stressed because...
Hi
I wonder if anyone can help. The boiler on/off switch keeps tripping the RCD on the consumer unit.
The RCD just tripped, it also controls all the ring circuit but I have managed to narrow it down to the on/off switch to the boiler.
I did change the 3 amp fuse and the boiler started for...
