Hi I need to replace both hot/cold taps as they have done 20 years service, I looked at various sites and the thread size is quoted as "G1/2" now the dumb bit, is this referring to the copper pipe size thats fits into the tap or is it the external thread size f the tap. Thanks for any info.

I bought a new kitchen mixer tap. Link below. https://www.wrenkitchens.com/aurora-tap-chrome-high-low-pressure/8901 Every time I walk into the kitchen, I see a drip on the end of the tap. I remove the drip, to discover another drip on the end of it after about couple of hours. Now, is there a...

    Kitchen tap question

Hi, I had a mixer tap installed a couple of years ago & the circlip at the back at the junction of the spout & mixer tap block wasn’t installed (either didn’t arrive with it or the plumber forgot to insert it). The tap works fine for day to day use, so I only discovered it was missing when I...

    Kitchen mixer taps (lifespan/brands/prices/variants)

My kitchen mixer tap (Franke Zurich) has developed a drip. Presumably the cartridge (hot) has started to wear out. It is one that I replaced about 3 and half yrs ago for the same reason (not sure how old its predecessor was as we inherited it). Doesn't seem a particularly great lifespan, but I'm...

How would you replace this kitchen tap mixer?

I need to replace my kitchen tap and these are the existing pipes - any suggestions? I was going to cut just above the connection with a pipe slice, install the new tap with flexi pipes and then connect it up with compression fittings/PTFE tape. Does that sound sensible?! Thanks.

Running boiler flu on top of kitchen cupboards

My daughter is having a kitchen extension and the boiler is going to be fitted on an inside wall with the flu running around 20 feet along the top of her new kitchen cupboards and out the wall. I think it’s a normal combi boiler (maybe Valiant). Is this normal and are there any safety...

Can't find correct replacement kitchen sink waste basket/plug.

Our kitchen sink waste basket plug is broken and I can find one that looks the same type anywhere. I've attached pictures of the half sink plug for illustration, as it's complete and works the same way. This plug twists and drops to make a seal, or pulls up and turns slightly to stay in drain...

    Leak under kitchen sink

Good afternoon. I have an intermittent leak on a “valve”(?) just above the cold water stopcock under the kitchen sink. Kitchen sink plug won't stay open!

Hi everyone, my kitchen sink plug won't stay open! It’s really frustrating. It’s held up by a little plastic hoop around the shaft, and friction is supposed to stop it closing. But it’s too easy to close – just running water will close it, and I have to hold it open all the time I want to empty...
