Grateful for any advice......I have two 600 x 600 rads to go into a kitchen with very restricted wall space - intending to site them only about 1 metre from each other, either side of a breakfast bar. Is it OK to treat them effectively as one unit - i.e. use one TRV on the inlet of the first...
Hi to all
i am a gas engineer having trouble at a job with two radiators that are cold in the Same location of house, I've changed both rads to new with new trvs and lock shield. Thought it was a airlock ,so I attached a house to vent and pushed water nothing!!! Then thought to turn other...
quick question
I switched on the Ch last night, and noticed the circulation pump on the thermal store kept running, circulating around the pipes, this seems quite a waste, I felt the pipes in the floor very warm, should the motorized valves not kick in a pump it into the rads .
thanks
Hi guys
Might have a job in the next week or so removing 6 old rads, I don't scrap anything as it all goes to the yard at work and they deal with it but this would be a private job. Is it worthwhile scrapping rads or just leave out for the scrappies?

Hi all,
I'm new here and trying to get my head around the selection of boilers as none of them seem to have very detailed spec sheets. My property is off the mains gas grid, with no space for LPG or oil tanks. I can't afford biomass or air source pumps which leaves me with an electric...

Hi all - Does anyone have a copy of the Heating Design Guide and if so can they tell me how much to oversize the rads on account of the boxing, and if there's any guidance as to how much space to leave between the rad and the boxing at the top, bottom and front of the boxing? Thanks in advance.
Hello all.
Are there any threads on here relating to balancing of rads in conjunction with radiators. I had a look but only found balancing a system with rads only.
cheers all
hi My partner seems to be having lots of trouble with her heating system the gas boiler is in loft, heats the upstairs rads, but the downstairs rads are very slow or intermittent at all to heat up. She had a plumber come out before xmas and all he did was close the lockshield valves upstairs to...
gravity fed HW, pumped C/H.
the pump is working ok (new). have cleared a blockage from the cold feed.
rads upstairs heating ok but downstairs stone cold. I am getting water to all the rads,
Can one of you wise gents please help. thank you.
I went to a property (I should say mansion - 5 floors) and every single rad had a TRV on either side. One side had the stat head and the other was capped off.
Isn't this bad practice? How are you going to balance the system with all valves fully open?
Shouldn't one be a lockshield?
Hi guys
Had a pig of a job today, over at the house of a regular customer I changed 3 rads downstairs, when it came to filling up for the last time and turning the heating on, upstairs reached temperature as you would expect but downstairs only a couple of rads were getting hot and the rest...

Hi Folks, I've got a strange fault with radiators not heating fully. Four year old system in three floor house with system boiler and unvented hot water in basement. A lot of the rear panels on the double panel rads on all floors are not heating, almost cold. The fronts are hot though some are...
Does anyone actually do this after an install? I know its for efficiency especially with a condensing boiler but does anyone do it?
I've never known anyone do it. Full install, all rad valves fully open, all getting hot, job done.
Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me with this issue...
I have a Greenstar 42 CDi combi boiler with a DT20RF programmer. Often, the boiler comes on at correct time and heats the radiators as it should. But, a lot of times the boiler will come on but the radiators with be just slightly warm...
Hall rad and kitchen rad back to back stone cold. Upstairs all hot, another 3 downstairs ok. Turned all upstairs rads off still the same two cold. Turned off the good 3 downstairs then boiler goes off.

Hi everyone. Im new to this forum and seeking advise please.
