When removing a old gravity system, is there a way of replacing with a conventional boiler with out compromising the open vent....
Many old gravity systems have the two heating pipes and two primary pipes at the boiler, then the feed and o/v coming off the top of the primarys at the cylinder...
Here is a diagram of my upstairs bathroom which I am renovating. Can someone please tell me where the best place is for the vent pipe(s). I have looked at Building Regs and it suggests they can be placed on all appliances but this will create a lot of work and I will have to rethink the layout...
Looking at replacing a normal radiator with a modem taller vertical type in my son's bedroom. As top of new radiator will be higher than the system vent and pump, will this cause a problem? Or do I need to extend vent pipe to be highest point?

Went to a old farm house today there heating and hot water is open vented. I had a look inside there loft and I noticed the feed and expansion cistern was redundant and beside it is a larger cold water cistern with two vent pipes going into it.
