Can anyone shed some light on a possible cause when a boiler does this... Same fault found on YouTube!

Ariston EuroCombi Fault - YouTube

its a 16 year old ariston eurocombi

i went to one on Friday, exact same fault, it goes thru this sequence about 3 times then lights correctly... The boiler also needs new exp vessel plus safety relief, the fault above I think is the pcb, as i can hear what sounds like a relay clunking out everytime? The pump is running okay, plus pri,ary flow switch & pump differential switch if that's helps!

im guessing its not a fan or aps as these components only run for a split second before clunking out & recycling the process, the flames also light but for a split second!

sounds like a a sticking aps they were prone to issues on the sx20,try it with the door off, also is the pump pressure switch lifting fully?

Yes the pump pressure switch could be seen to lift nice & fully on the switch.

it's only running the fan for 1/4 of a second in the sequence, surely it can't expect the aps to make in that kind of time?

The fault reminded me of the old netaheat that pulse the fan on & off, which was the board always?

3 way ap switch on these iirc, try it with the door off also check the multiplug through the combustion case these can play up as well
