Hi All

I have a 2"steel gas pipe that passes through a single skin wall, unsleeved. I don't want to turn the gas off and need some sort of split sleeve that can connect around the pipe and slide it into the penetration.(no jokes please :uhoh2:)
How's everyone's product knowledge? I've searched Google but not come up with anything.

Thanks
Dave

The sleeve has to be capable of carrying gas so if it's been split along its length, it isn't.

Going to have to be an indirect purge to air, a hoist, a sleeve, Remi dies and a box union.

Send a copy of both sides of your gsr card to [email protected]. Remember to include your username on ukpf.

Hi shauncorbs

Have messaged gas man but still waiting. I understand why you can't give out gas info in public forum but I'm getting pushed by my client. I just wondered if you can pm me details offline? My email is [email protected] I've given my gas details above so you can check if needed.
Would really appreciate you helping me out.
Cheers
Dave

I know how id do it on a water pipe..id get some 2 1/2" split it with a grinder put the 2 halfs around the 2" water pipe after id put something fire proof around it stop it from burning the red paint off then weld it there then move it along the pipe of the fire proofing then into the wall however with gas I couldn't say.

I did consider that but water isn't flammable! So would have to purge to air before welding which defeats the object.
The main reason to try to do this without turning the gas off and purging etc is that the mechanics will get cold, bless! So by this reasoning it will be out of hours.

If only there was a sleeve in two halves that bolted together with flanges down the length on both sides with a gasket. It would be easy enough to make but I don't know if that would be approved or if there's anything similar on the market?
