1st register your boiler or you will lose the 2 years, (Void if benchmark not filled in) 2nd Call Gas Safe and see if boiler has been Notified you will get a certificate from them (Needed if you plan to sell your house) So its either installer has seen you off Or you have done install your self,

Thanks for the info. so for sure I would get 2 yrs at most, not 5 yrs warranty as mentioned earlier in this post right? I am not aware of the gas safe certificate either and will look into it. feel gutted

You will not even get the 2 years if Benchmark information HAS NOT been filled in all manufactures are insisting that this is done ! Quite simple NO Benchmark NO Warranty, this is done for your own protection & to insure that installation has been fitted by a Gas Safe installer, Please note that even worse , is that your House insurance may now be Void.

I would be checking the fitters credentials

I wouldn't hold your breath there is absolutely no reason to not fill it out when installibg

What you need to do is 1. do the necessary work in the loft so that complies, 2. Check with GAS SAFE 0800 408 5577.
3. If you cant locate guy who fitted it (Where did you find him) ? Than you will need to try and find another engineer that is prepared to check out what has been done and re-commission your boiler, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT as most will not entertain doing it, if your lucky expect a hefty Bill.

Unless your not gas safe

I think you need to call Gassafe now and get an inspection carried out. You've tried the installer but they are not responding. Your safety, your families safety and that of your neighbours could be at significant risk. Gassafe will inspect, and pursue the installer. If he is not Gassafe they will prosecute and if he is they have the power to hold him to account and get home m to rectify the work or strike him off the register. Don't delay act now before it's too late.

call gassafe and was told need a registration number which I need to findout

Not A clip in sight that looks pretty dog rough to be honest. You really need to get that inspected. Also is that Tec-tite fittings all the way through

Those tectite fittings need supporting. That filter isn't doing its job properly at that angle.
I would be very concerned. if it's been thrown in like that with no skill or workmanship it's doubtful that the guy is even Gassafe. Can you get a pic of the flue where it goes through the wall.

You can use the company name to trace them on the find a registered installer
Page.

You see I didn't think so Either

sorry don't quite understand the terms above but sounds like it's not right standard. however the guy is gassafe installer anyway. thanks for the link above

How do you know that the engineer is Gas Safe ?? I am confused if you can't find them on the Gas Safe website and you don't know the gas safe number how do you know they are gas safe

Tectite are push for copper fittings, the filter is the black thing, it the pipe work needs to be vertical or horizontal in the direction it runs, not the angle it currently is. I would call Gassafe if I'm honest with you it looks like a complete amateur job. The benchmark isn't filled in which is literally writing down your readings which you have to carry out to safely instal the boiler so there is no reason to not write them down. I doubt it even saw a
Flue gas analyser.

Basically we are querying whether some of the fittings that he has used are suitable. The filter is the black cylinder on the pipework to the right and as has been mentioned at that angle will not be working properly

thru recommendation. a handy guy who fit things for me and he is quite good use him in many central heating jobs. He checked the credential previously so I used without second thought at that time,

So I am confused is it the handyman that has fitted the boiler or did he recommend the guy ?? If you have checked his credentials I don't understand how you don't know the gas safe number Surely you know who you've paid. Something not adding up here mate

not the handy man and nothing to do with the handyman here, he(not the handyman) is a gas installer. I didn't check , first of all I dont know I need to (how silly), second of all I kinda trust the recommendation at that time.

You know what they say about assumption. Recommendation or not there is every possibility the guy isn't Gas Safe based on the standard of the work. All we can say is get Gas Safe out as soon as possible to inspect it it is free and they don't need to know the installers details to inspect however they are going to need need these if you want to take it further
