Can't really add to what has been said, please let us know the outcome of the Gassafe inspection. If you need an engineer to rectify the problems identified by Gassafe then use the find an engineer section on this website.

Sorry just trying to say agree and will contact gassafe again. the previous info is trying to answer query why I endup using the installer

As said good luck and please keep us updated if you do need work re-doing then one of our guys no doubt will be happy to help

[DLMURL="http://www.ukplumbersforums.co.uk/im-looking-plumber-gas-engineer/"]I'm looking for a Plumber or Gas Engineer[/DLMURL]

Well you have a new Boiler with NO Warranty, NO Compliance Certificate and if you have a problem NO House insurance, Looking at the photos it looks more like a DIY job or your handy-man has done it, I fit Ideal boilers and Proberly like a lot of guys on here belong to installer clubs, where we do the registration paperwork for the customer, and in some cases this grants extra warranty's because they know that the job complies with regulations, You have an install that complies with nothing

You know what they say about assumption. Recommendation or not there is every possibility the guy isn't Gas Safe based on the standard of the work. All we can say is get Gas Safe out as soon as possible to inspect it it is free and they don't need to know the installers details to inspect however they are going to need need these if you want to take it further

I've seen many gas safe installers do a worse job than that. Just because someone is gas safe doesn't make them install neatly or correctly it just means they know better.

From what I see from the photos screams cheap to me

Cheap ! must have spent more on fittings than he earned in wages, Its only my opinion but I think his Handy-Man as done it & OP is trying to get the warranty on the boiler, Strange he cant get hold of installer, says he was recommended, then get hold of person that recommended him, Must be easy to find , who supplied the boiler ?

Engineers, can you use tectite on PRV's?

thanks I understand the filter now. what is wrong with tectite and prvs, I dont know what/where they are as Im not a pro in this field. what should they look in a correct way. I'd like to mark this down have in mind for when someone's coming if that's possible.

The handy man is not a gas engineer but the one referred is. I wish they are the same person.

Terrible install. Just get his gas safe number and let gas safe do a free inspection. Surely you have the installers company address on an invoice? You can then look it up via postcode on the gas safe website.

Don't worry, thy may be fine, Gassafe will advise you when they visit.

Still convinced this is a DIY job, OP seems reluctant to chase it up , Bet he hasn't even called Gas Safe yet . He's only after warranty

Basically we are querying if certain fittings are suitable for the excessive temperatures involved. As it sounds like you are getting someone else in just mention it to them. They will understand

just looked there fine 10 bar at 114 (temp)

but would never use them on anything

Cheers Shaun, I've never bought any, only time I've used them was when I fitted some
Discrete heat skirting boards and they are supplied.

tbh finding them more and more bloody push fit, least with plastic you can dismount with no special tools :D

I don't use tectite but there is nothing wrong with the application its the lack of ability & quality with the install that's really in question

The install is dog rough. There's note tying away from it

update:
Gas Safe has checked and suggested it requires reinstall also opened a case against the previous installer. I booked a gas engineer to sort it out. Stressful but believe all will be sorted. Next will try trading standard. thank for previous answers from the forum members. it's helpful.

Thank you for the update. Are you able to list the faults just out of curiosity

Was it at risk?

Installation is not up to standard and it's a risk. main issue is that gas pipe is in a wrong size, also some pipe works needed to be corrected. boiler need to be switched off until recommission.

Well I'm glad you got an answer what are they saying about the original installer

same opinion. I feel lucky that original installer disappeared so that I discovered all these and keep safe.
