HI I am new to this site and looking for some advice. I fitted a new hot water cylinder recently and since then the downstairs radiators do not get hot. It also appear as if the water flow from the boiler is coming in at the top of the cylinder first and then taking a long time for the pipework coming out at the bottom to get hot. Any ideas or suggestions as to what I can do and what the problem may be. The other pipework has not been altered and the system was working ok until this new fitting. Thanks for your help

the flow should be entered at the bottom of the cylinder should it not? or have u fitted an unvented cylinder?

Hi thanks for your reply. Yes I have a vented cylinder with the vent pipe going into the loft and over the expansion tank. I thought the original flow, but I may be wrong, came in to the cylinder at the bottom and then out at the top where the link to the vent is.

TODDY, it is an old gravity system with small pump sitting just above the baxi boiler. I have got all the upstairs radiators working now its just a couple at ground level that wont get hot at all, not even warm. Any thoughts on how to get them working? Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks

Turn off all the upstairs radiators , pump speed to 3 and see if you can bleed air from downstairs rads , may just be airlocked somewhare

Thanks Toddy I will turn off the upstairs rads and see if I can blead air from down stairs rads. When I have tried earlier I was just getting water. I was begining to think that it may be a problem with the pump. Thanks again
