why wouldnt it work most of them dont learn any of the tech side in the collage any way

The right way to train is an apprenticeship, the wrong way is through a training centre. I trained this year through access training, they have been good but it's the extra 1000 hours of homework and private jobs that have given me more knowledge, you have to keep very alert and on their case to get what you need and gain knowledge of the vast world of plumbing through a training centre, but it can be done.
