New build flats unvented cylinder

Hi I am having my office converted to two flats and am having unvented cyilinders fitted. The plumber is not gas safe registered but has the relevant qualification for fitting the cylinders. What I would like to know will the cylinders need regestering with building control even though the plans have been passed by the local planners or will they just need to see the completed benchmark forms when the work is completed.

Your man (G3 qualified) needs to notify the installation. As I'm GSR, I do it thru them. Otherwise, you could get grief even if the work is done properly. Someone forgot to register a boiler install (sorry gov, won't happen again. Honest!) & got an irate client who couldn't sell their property as the purchaser's solicitors noticed this from a records search at the Council. Fortunately, I was able to rectify this without too much trouble but didn't do myself any favours.

The fact you're asking this question leads me to ask why the installer hasn't told you this already. Check out YouTube for footage of what can go wrong if an unvented install goes wrong. It scares me & I'm both qualified & a fan of unventeds.

yes, your g3 qualified plumber will register them via his competent persons scheme, make sure you check your plumbers credentials.
