Are thermostatic rad valves best positioned at the top or bottom of a radiator.

Thanks

I guess at the top if you're an old person
Probably at the bottom though due to convection currents and mounted horizontally and not in the room with the wall thermostat, and away from curtains etc

what is it with the aged comments ,at the top increases rad output, and if you look at rad output specs rad manufactors give outputs as top bottom opposed.
