This may be a silly question. Sorry in advance. Does the pump act as a stop valve when it's not running, or does it sort of freewheel, allowing a gravity circulation to take place?

standard pump so will offer restriction but no non return. gravity wont take place on most as it would have to run up continually this is unlikely
