Niclearsed, you are another tragic case of someone believing the crap from the sensationalist media. Meanwhile back in the real world, the normal media reported the true story of what happened when Farage came to Edinburgh.
There were two groups there, one from a student Scottish Nationalist group and the other was an anti-racism group from England who by the way outnumbered the student nationalists. There were no anti-English chants made, Farage made that up in his interview. What was chanted was "Farage go back to England". As for the Union Jack, it's not a popular flag here for many and there were burn comments made about it, but there was no violence of any kind. Worse was the attacks to come in England made the facists on Mosques and innocent Muslims, who have condemned the soldiers murder.
Anyway, there were only two arrests made that day, one was a Scot and the other lad was English protesting about UKIP's immigration policy. No one in the SNP, YES Scotland, Labour for Independence or any other independence group have EVER made Nazi salutes, made disgusting comments against immigrants, women and the disabled as UKIP and the EDL have done. Farage is trying to cover up his party's extremism by sacking members who've made facist comments in the not so distanced past. He has recently sacked a UKIP leader for supporting gay marriage! They are one slot above the BNP and they are not welcome here.
There is huge distinction between Nationalist and socialist. I resent that you are implying that the SNP(of which I and the majority of Scots support) and other supporters of Scottish independence are Nazis. We achieve our aims through political and democratic means, not by thuggery as those facist groups down South are displaying. The only Nazis are those thugs filled with hate in the EDL and UKIP who are hell bent on causing riots and are using the murder of a brave young soldier to further their own agendas.
I fully condemn the horrific murder of that soldier, but this was carried out by men who had turned to extremism. Meeting extremism with further extremism is not the answer and this would only cause further widespread conflict leading to the deaths of more innocent people.
Patriotism belongs at the ballot box, not through riots or thugs trying to disrupt society.
