I had a standard Y plan system which has now been added to to provide UFH to an extension. The additions are a T off the hot feed into a 2 port valve into a 22mm thermostatic valve and then into a grundfos pump. This then pumps round the UFH with the return flowing into the 22mm thermostatic valve and back into the return to the boiler. I want to be able to use the UFH independently of the Y plan. I was thinking of an additional 2 port above the T off from the hot feed to stop the flow coming down when the UFH is on. Does anyone know of any control that can activate the pumps and the boiler independently.

I have considered putting in some DPST relays to control the boiler and pumps independently

I have uploaded an image to show you how the plumbing is connected.

I would like to use something that is wireless so i can manage it from my smartphone. I have spoken to heatmiser who said it cannot be done.

Thanks in advance

That will not work. You need 3 x two port valves after the main pump and get rid of y plan valve.

As it is when main pump comes on it will fight the ufh pump. Also as you have stated you have no control.

If yiou do it the way i say you can control the ufh with a wireless smartphone stat and another for the rads id you want. The system will need to be piped and wired up by a professional though, not yourself.

Agree with above, ditch the 3 port and move over to s plan. Not a lot more effort than what you are suggesting anyway.
Make sure there is a bypass on the system while you are at it too...

So there you go jamesd, it isn't working now cos whoever installed it did not know what they were doing, please don't compound your problems, get a plumber/heating engineer it you understands what is required to provide you with a fully working system.
They will also be able explain to you about the requirements of U/F systems as far a heating response times.
