Hi,
I'm installing a water filter which has plastic inlet and outlet fittings like this...
The suggested way is to go straight to flexible pipe with fibre washer and a 90 degree bend...
...but the pipes supplied have the wrong size at the far end.
I have some other flexible pipes I want to...
I have a vintage tank with a tapered brass fitting fixed in.
A new mating fitting is required.
The thread is 7/8" max with 26 tpi and it is tapered.
7/8" 26 is a standard British Standard Brass (BSB) thread, but tapered?
I can find no reference to BSB tapered.
Help?
Has anyone had any issues mix and matching different brands of MLCP pipe & fittings?
I usually buy Uponor, and currently have a big stock of fittings, but I am keen to buy some cheaper pipe to use with them.
Hi all
I've got an old baby belfast sink I want to use and I'd like to mount it on old brackets... I've done a mock installation in another part of the house just to see how secure it feels on the brackets and I'm happy with the result. If I put a lot of downward wait on the front lip of the...
Hi guys
Im replacing a set of basin taps with a v&b mixer tap.
The flexi tails attached to the tap body have got some fitting ends that I've not seen before
The instructions have some images of what look like push fit sockets (not supplied)
I want to fit the tails to 15mm copper pipe...
What do you guys charge for fitting a smart thermostat.
Nest or hive to a combi?
It’s one of those jobs that could take an hour or could take 3. I have had a few hard to pair hives
Am replacing a rubbishy old waste trap and have bought the McAlpine 1.5-2 sink kit with 40mm pipes. Problem is that the end which connects to the outside pipe is neither in line with it nor close to it (several cm away). What can I use to connect it - I was looking at the McAlpine FLEXCON4...
Trying to get the 3 port valve off so I can get on with changing from Y plan to S plan. Problem is one of the compression treads will not come free. And being sods law it is the one feeding into the DHW tank. Have tried brute force with 2 large spanners, tried heating it, and freezing it and...
I want to solder a 15mm end-feed elbow onto a straight run of pipe to join it up to a radiator. I've cut the existing pipe run just a fraction too short to come straight up to hit the radiator valve, but I'm hoping it could still work...
How important is it that the copper pipe is pushed all...
The pipe coming out the floor that you can't see is that old black plastic. And obviously not exactly accessible.
The compression drain off looks, to me, like it might be one of those that had those coned olives in them? And I can't guarantee I'd get one off to re-use with a new bit of pipe...
Hi all. I've got a square elbow outlet that I want to plumb in next to my wall tap.
Might sound like a daft question but it's got a securing nut so o
How on earth do I secure it to a solid wall.
I could reposition to a stud wall that I have access to to screw secure but I don't really want it...
I wonder if anyone can help, I've tried several plumbers merchants to no avail. I have removed an old stopcock, (which seized long ago, with a newer stopcock just above) as it had been leaking from several places, mainly at the bottom where it joined the 3/4" threaded female end on rising main...
I have been asked to fit an external tap at a mental health facility to enable the external paths to be hosed down. What form of back syphoning measure is sufficient for this installation?
Going to put in new iso valves and on the compression fitting should a smidgen of LSX be used around the olive?
On the other end will be fitting tap tail adaptors again using olive and smidgen of LSX.

So is there any downside in using LSX...
Hi. Could anyone advise if this is a push fit fitting that I can rotate?
If I had to cut out the section I'd have to do from below in the kitchen which might be problematic.
I've applied some wd40 in prep for when I disconnect toilet but not sure if it will move.
Thanks
I've an idea for a plumbing fitting for the UK market, can anyone give me a steer where to go for development?
I emailed Flowflex but didn't get a response....
I did think of Rob Foster aka @centralheatking - is he still on here?

The old shower waste that was removed from the bathroom had a section where the waste went from 40 up to 50mm with an adapter. The pipes were run above floor and boxed in. Along a 2.5mish run
There was this part just before the transition from 40 to 50 mm
Going to be running my new shower...
Morning, sorry for such a basic question but I I don't know what fitting to use!
I have a fitted toilet which is being removed and a small kitchen sink being put in place. The soil pipe is coming out of the wall horizontally.
I'm used to a boss fitting but I need to blank this?
I saw a fitting...
I managed to get the broken shower waste body out of the trap. I'm about to fit a new waste, a much more robust brass item.
The trap has a big rubber gasket designed to sit flush against the underside of the shower tray.
Is it a good idea for me to fit a rubber gasket between the flange on...
