I have what appears to be a single pipe system? with microbore manifold downstairs, and I'm assuming another upstairs under floorboards, both with 3 radiators. The photo shows the downstairs manifold, and looking at the way the other radiators are connected, is there any reason why connecting...
Hi.
I have one radiator downstairs that will just not get hot.
If I disconnect the thermostatic valve then turn it on hot water comes through.
When I reconnect it the radiator heats up for a couple of days then stops again.
I have bleed the radiators / balanced.
Any idea?
Thanks
Closed heating system, approx 14 years old with oil fired boiler, feeding around 18 radiators over 2 floors. One small radiator nearest the boiler and downstairs repeatedly fills up with hydrogen over a period of about 4 weeks. Hydrogen is suspected as it can be ignited and there is no smell...
Hello, does anyone have any details of the heat output for old myson round top radiators? The radiators do not have fins and date from 1970s / 1980s. There was another tread where there seemed to be attachments with the info but the links have expired. Thanks for any help.

Hi,
I want to add inhibitor into towel radiator for the heating system. I saw from Youtube that people normally open the radiator vent plug from bottom, either left or right (photo 4 and 5). But I saw someone opened from top which looks easier.
Please see the attached photos 2 and 3, should I...
I have a rusty radiator in the bathroom, not worth repainting as there is already paint on top of rust. It will be straightforward for me to change myself, I can get an identical replacement Stellrad, which makes things easy. The water in the system has inhibitors in it and a Fernox TF1 has kept...

Hi there. I’ve installed a new towel radiator and I’m trying to fit the valves but I’ve come unstuck and need some help.
I’ve bought new angled valves to replace the old ones but I can’t connect them. I think I’m missing something.

I've spotted this rust patch on the outside of a cast iron radiator in the house.
There's no sign of any water leaking from it on the floor, however when I put my finger on it, I couldn't say it was bone dry.
Any advice on what I should do to try and resolve this? I'm a bit fearful of...

My current existing radiator valve setup is:

Hello everyone!
I purchased this steam vent valve: Hoffman Steam Air Vent 40, 1/8" Angle Steam Radiator Air Valve 401440. Installed it and the hissing is much reduced but now, the hissing happens every 10-20 seconds for about two seconds. Its annoying enough to wake me up at night (I wish I...
Hi everyone. Apologies - I'm new, but I promise to try and be an active member of the forum :)
We're doing some decorating just now and it was suggested that we take off the radiators to make it easier for the plasterer. We decided to have a go ourselves rather than getting someone in for...
Hi
Just installed a vertical rad from plumbworld with a bi directional TRV which was installed on the return. The Trv seems to not do much so I queried it with plumbworld. They stated the Trv must be on the inlet side regardless of it being bidirectional. Is this correct? What was the point...
