Hi Ive just bought a seaside chalet with electric only. Its got an ancient copper cylinder which is starting to leak and needs replacing. Can anyone advise me of a product which will save me electric bills in the long run? It is only for a small 1400mm bath, as having an undersink water heater...

Hi. just wondering if anybody could help as not certain if all these problems are connected or if I am just having a run of bad luck.

As above, my hot water cylinder will not heat up when the heating is on. The hot water will heat up when the immersion is on.
The pipes going to the coil are both hot, even when the heating is on all day it won't heat!
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hello.
Have a small cottage that had electrics rads in. I want to get a wet central heating system put in. The hot water for the cottage comes via a heating element in the cylinder and the occasional use of a wood burning stove which is plumbed in to heat water as an alternative.
Can this...
Hi,
Recently bought a 1930s semi and was checking the attic out.
Can any one tell me why the puffa jacket on this hot water cylinder is burnt - has it overheated? Since both the pipe near it is copper and the cylinder itself is copper, if it overheated wouldnt both sides of the puffa jacket be...
Hello all,
quick question, just fitted a jacket around my hot water cylinder and left the immersion heater uncovered, should I leave the cylinder thermostat uncovered as well or does it not make any difference?

I need to replace a leaking hot water cyclinder.

I'm hoping to re-use the existing...

The boiler is an old oil fired Camray Quartet, I think, as only the manufacturer name is visible with no model number. There is a Zilmet expansion...

My bro's Hot water cylinder keeps resetting itself, it is a direct cylinder, heated purely by the immersion, the immersion heater keeps resetting, meaning he has no hot water. I have replaced, the thermostat, no luck, the whole immersion, no luck. he has been on an electrical forum and they...
every few months the wires on my hot water thermostat stiffen and sometimes get a bluish corrosion on them and cause the thermostat to stop working until I replace the wire that has corroded. There is no moisture around the wires so why would this be happening?
I am in the process of selecting a replacement hot water cylinder and am looking at an indirect unit with the port for the immersion element located on the radius of the top of the cylinder. This means that I need to know how much space is required between the top of the cylinder and the ceiling...
