Is there a seperate certificate, for a gas fire.

I have never needed to do one. My customer had her boiler and fire serviced. I failed the gas fire as it was spilling. I said it could be cobwebs. She has now had the chimney cleaned. I have been back refitted the fire and tested. Passed both tests. Do I re-issue a cp12? or is there another form...

    CO results for inset fire

Our CO alarms went off the other day. I did all the tests in manafacters instructions plus a few more to ensure fire is safe to use. I conducted a combustion gas analysis and it threw up a surprising result. CO2 6.0 Co 350 Ratio 0.0065 Now I would not usually feel happy about leaving this...

Safety Check on a Coalbrookdale fire?

Has anyone recently done a LGSC at a house with a Coalbrookdale fire in it? What did you test? I know its not a gas appliance but it still burns solid fuel and produces CO2. Any insight would be good. Thanks.

    Boiler won’t fire on H/W

Vaillant Turbomax VUW 242E. Fires fine on heating, turn on hot tap and burner goes out. So it’s recognising there’s s call for h/w. Could this be the diverter valve or more likely the micro switch? Hot water is achieved with heating on apparently. Anyway to check the diverter on this boiler?

Gas fire chimney cap too small

Hi, our builder recently fitted some clay drop-in chimney covers for our dripping chimneys and one of them was for a gas fire. The first two are regular 205mm ventilated caps but the spigot for the clay drop-in GC5 he used for the gas, in my option, is too small at just 170mm externally and...
