We could actually have UKPF get togethers in the back of that!

Sign on the sign should say

My Thule tube carriers turned up yesterday and I've just unpacked them. They're a lot bigger than I expected but they are so sexy. Isit wrong to get sexually aroused by a tube carrier?

I'm having one for copper and one for plastic waste etc. I'll even get a length of soil in if I can't be rsed to tie it on the roof.

It's right what they say. Men don't grow up there toys just get bigger.

How much is the tracker setting you back Mike?

£150 plus VAT fitted which includes the first 3 months subscription then £6.99 a month. It's knocked my insurance costs down a bit but it will give me a bit of extra peace of mind in case the 130 gets stolen. The back will be nice and secure so my tools should be safe and the pedal box lock will help prevent theft but there's still a possibility that it could be dragged onto a low loader. You've got the option of setting up holiday alerts so that if it moves when you're away the police are notified etc. I think this costs about a £1 a day which is not a lot for peace of mind when you're sunning yourself.

GPS Tracker

Funny you should mention the low loader, my mate has recently had his Land Rover low loaded off in broad daylight outside his house while he was watching TV. His son came back home a said "dad where's the land rover" he said its outside where I parked it "er....no its not"

I'm hoping that the low loader is a remote possibility for me as parking is quit tight round here but the more I can do to secure my new baby the better. By the time it's sign written it will be a bit out of the ordinary so more likely to attract attention which will be good for me but bad for thieves hopefully.

There's nothing going to stop that Badboy on tracks short of running out of Diesel!

Mike new tools and toys is all I go to work for!, congrats pal!

Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the final project! Can't wait to see he sign writing, racking, storage etc.

You've got us all rather excited, & I am certainly very envious. I am massive Land Rover fan.

I used to spend a lot time at my Uncles farm. He used to kit Defenders out with medical supplies, equipment & specialist modifications for customer including UNICEF & security firms.

Please post some pics when you get a chance!!

Another good reason to have a tracker is if you are involved in an accident. One of our lads was in a tracked van when he was involved in a collision, in which the other driver nearly died. The tracker module includes a 3 plane accelerometer (normally used to alert a fleet manager if a driver is excessively accelerating, braking or swerving) but we were able to use it to prove to the police that our lad was driving straight and level, within the speed limit, and didn't pull out sharply. In the end, they decided that the other driver had fallen asleep at the wheel.

I've contemplated getting an in cab camera for the same reason. I seem to get so many people that pull out in front of me assuming that I'm travelling slowly because I'm in a land rover.

It's the 'I need to get out in front of that van/landrover' syndrome. Trouble is they do it and you end up driving on their back seat.

They never think about your van, full of gear needs longer to stop!

Looks like a great buy Mike, definitely out of the ordinary so will attract business when written up.

Wishing you all the best with it, as to waking up thinking about it I'm afraid you need therapy.................

Real Men would be sleeping in it LOL

One sleep to go. It's like Christmas, I want to go to bed now so tomorrow comes quicker.

You big kid, fair play. Just hope it snows so you can laugh at everyone getting stuck.

Well it's got too much for me and I'm up. It's a PITA that I've got to take the hire van back first or we could have got on the road early. Still we'll have a steady drive up after 9, pick the 130 up and then call into a service station and pig out on an all day breakfast. I'll have the iPad with me so I may update when I've got it.

Look forward to hearing about it!

Drive safe & don't forget to buy a new air freshener for the new wheels!
